Workshops and Programs

Mental Health First Aid Training

The Mental Health First Aid education program teaches the skills needed to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance abuse challenges and crises. This eight-hour in-person course uses role-playing and simulations to demonstrate how to offer initial help in a mental health crisis and connect people to the appropriate professional, peer, social and self-help care. After completion of the course, participants will receive a three-year certification in Mental Health First Aid.

Naloxone Training

Naloxone trainings teach how to recognize and reverse an opioid overdose. Participants will become an opioid overdose responder and receive an overdose response kit with naloxone, a medication that reverses the effects of an opioid overdose and restores breathing.

  • If you are a local business or community-based organization and would like to host a training for your staff or clients, contact Aqsa Shahbaz: ashahbaz@health.nyc.gov or 718-637-5271.

Spanish-Language Childbirth Education
