Health Insurance: Facilitated Enrollment for the Aged, Blind and Disabled

Medicaid for Undocumented New Yorkers Age 65 and Older

As of January 1, 2024, income eligible undocumented adults age 65 and older are now eligible for Medicaid. Medicaid offers comprehensive health coverage including routine doctors’ visits, hospitalization, vaccinations and prescription drugs.

To qualify, New Yorkers must meet income requirements at or below:

  • $20,783 for an individual
  • $28,208 for a household of two

If you are eligible and already have Emergency Medicaid, you should receive a notice in the mail from NY State of Health with additional instructions on how to choose a Medicaid Managed Care plan. If you are eligible but do not have emergency Medicaid, you must apply through the NYC Human Resources Administration (HRA). You will then receive instructions from NY State of Health on how to choose a Medicaid Managed Care plan.

For more information or to schedule an enrollment appointment, call 347-665-0214 or fill out the Health Insurance Enrollment Assistance Inquiry Form. Help is available in many languages, regardless of immigration status.

You can get free assistance to apply for Medicaid, Medicare and the Medicare Savings Program, which helps cover Medicare costs if you are:
