Over 22,000 appointments for the first dose of the vaccine at City COVID-19 Vaccine Hubs that were made for January 21 – January 24 of will be rescheduled to next week

Appointments for the second dose of the vaccine remain and will not be rescheduled

January 20, 2021 — The Health Department today announced that all first dose appointments made for Thursday, January 21 through Sunday, January 24 at City COVID-19 Vaccine Hubs will be rescheduled to the same time next week as the City deals with vaccine shortages.

“Vaccinating all eligible New Yorkers as quickly as possible will ensure we keep this virus at bay,” said Health Commissioner Dr. Dave Chokshi. “We are disappointed that we have still not been allocated enough doses to get New Yorkers vaccinated quickly, but we will keep working with our State and federal partners to get more doses.”

The Department has sent out email notifications to all affected New Yorkers and is calling each person to ensure they have been alerted of the change. All of the scheduled appointments for the first dose of the vaccine within these dates will be rescheduled to exactly one week from the original appointment slot and at the same time. The Department is working with New Yorkers to find an available appointment time for those who cannot reschedule for exactly one week later.
