Temporary transitional housing is available to all New Yorkers verifiably experiencing homelessness, including families with children. All families with children entering the DSS-DHS shelter system must apply for shelter at DSS-DHS' Prevention Assistance and Temporary Housing (PATH) intake center. More information on the shelter entry and application process for families with children can be found here.

No family experiencing homelessness and in need of shelter will be turned away.

At these shelter locations, dedicated staff work with each family to support them through this challenging time, offering services and supports to help these families get back on their feet and return to independent living.
