MEDIA ADVISORY: HOMELESS SENIORS PERFORM AT CARNEGIE HALL WITH THE DALLAS STREET CHOIR AND DALLAS’ CREDO COMMUNITY CHOIR
375 homeless New Yorkers attend performance for free
NEW YORK—Tonight at 8PM, the Dallas Street Choir and Dallas' Credo Community Choir are providing free tickets for "Imagine a World – Music for Humanity: to 375 homeless New Yorkers, including families with children and single adults who currently reside in shelters in New York City. The show will begin at 8PM in the Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage. Two dozen seniors who reside at the Valley Lodge transitional housing facility will be performing as the Valley Lodge Choir. The performance will be combined with personal stories of strength and courage from choir members who are experiencing homelessness in Dallas and New York City.
Through our collaboration with community-based organizations, nonprofits, and corporations, DHS provides educational and cultural events designed to boost self-esteem, promote teamwork, and demonstrate the importance of ongoing community involvement in the lives of our children and adult clients. Each year, DHS organizes more than 300 events, including 125 cultural activities, 75 educational projects, and a number of sporting events.
