Elizabeth Crotty, Commissioner and Chair

On March 18, 2022, Elizabeth “Liz” Crotty was appointed by Mayor Eric Adams to lead the New York City Business Integrity Commission (BIC). As Commissioner and Chair, Liz oversees the agency charged with regulating and preventing organized crime and corruption in private carting businesses, public wholesale markets and the shipboard gaming industry.

Prior to joining BIC, Liz worked at Crotty Saland, PC where she was a Founding Partner. Before that, she was an Associate at Kreindler & Kreindler litigating major international complex civil cases.

Liz began her career at the New York County District Attorney's Office under Robert M. Morgenthau where she served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Trial Division, before moving to the Investigation Division prosecuting cases as a member of the Special Prosecutions Bureau.

Ms. Crotty currently serves as a board member for the Manhattan District Attorney’s Association, a not-for-profit alumni organization of the Manhattan DA’s Office.

Ms. Crotty holds a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and a B.A. in European History and Art History from Hobart & William Smith Colleges.
