STATEMENT OF MAYOR MICHAEL R. BLOOMBERG ON ATTACKS IN MOSCOW

“Today’s attacks by suicide bombers in Moscow are despicable acts of terrorism that only strengthen our resolve to defeat the forces of fear and hatred. All New Yorkers – including more than a quarter-million with Russian roots – join in condemning these barbaric attacks. My deepest sympathies are with the families of those killed and wounded today – our thoughts and prayers are with you. And all New Yorkers should know that immediately after the attacks, the New York City Police Department stepped up its patrol of the subways. We will learn from the terrible tragedy in Moscow, as we do from every terrorist incident around the world, and we will continue to do everything possible to protect our transit system – and our entire City – from the threat of terrorism.”
