Anthony Perez, Bronx Borough Commissioner

Anthony Perez was appointed Bronx Borough Commissioner at NYC DOT in November 2023. In this role, Anthony serves as the point person to the public, elected officials, community boards and community groups for all Bronx NYC DOT operations, including street improvement projects, Vision Zero initiatives, Open Restaurants, Open Streets, Citi Bike expansion, bus lane initiatives, and all other routine NYC DOT work including signage, sidewalk repair, and traffic signals.

Before joining NYC DOT, Anthony served as the Manhattan Borough Commissioner at NYC Parks overseeing the operations and management of Manhattan’s parks and playgrounds. Prior to his role at NYC Parks, Anthony was Deputy Chief of Staff of the New York City Council where he was a strategic advisor to the Speaker on key legislative priorities and helped manage the Council’s day-to-day operations relating to legislation, land use, and oversight of the City’s annual budget.

After completing the NYC Urban Fellows Program, Anthony began his career in government serving in a number of roles at the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City where he managed public-private partnerships and special projects supporting innovative citywide initiatives across NYC government agencies.

Born and raised in the Bronx, Anthony earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Union College and lives in the Bronx with his wife, daughter, and his bulldog named Brodie.
