York City DEP Cosponsors Workshop for Bronx Dry Cleaners on
Bronx Environmental Interest Free Revolving Loan Fund
The New York City Department of Environmental Protection’s
(DEP) Bureau of Environmental Compliance along with the Bronx Overall
Economic Development Corporation’s (BOEDC) Bronx Initiative
for Energy and the Environment, in consultation with the National
Cleaners Association (NCA) will sponsor a talk for Bronx dry cleaners
by experts in the field. The workshop will cover three topics;
the Interest Free Revolving Loan Fund, preparing for DEP fourth
generation equipment perc inspections, and the successful performance
of alternative technologies to perc.

Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrion, Jr., and the BOEDC have
established the Bronx Initiative for Energy and the Environment.
The goals of the Initiative are to demonstrate pathways to more
environmentally beneficial practices for the improvement of air
quality in the Bronx . This workshop specifies issues for dry cleaners.
Future workshops will be held for other Bronx businesses and building
owners to assist them in implementing energy efficient measures
and/or new technologies.
