Third
Annual “Take A Child Fishing Day” At Kensico Reservoir
on September 18
Commissioner Christopher O. Ward of the New York City Department
of Environmental Protection (DEP) announced today that the DEP
is joining with the Kensico Environmental Enhancement Program (KEEP)
to sponsor the 3rd annual “Take a Child Fishing Day” at
Louden Cove at the Kensico Reservoir in Westchester.
The event will take place on Saturday, September 18 from 10 AM
to 1 PM. Bait (generously donated by Bob’s Sport & Tackle)
will be provided. Participants will have to supply their own rod
and reel. Reservations are also required to be made by September
17. Call DEP at (914) 773-4553 for reservations.
“This is a great opportunity for parents and children to
spend a day of fun together at one of our watershed’s most
beautiful recreational sites, and at the same time learn more about
the Kensico Reservoir,” said Commissioner Ward. “The
2003 Take a Child Fishing Day was a great success, and I want to
thank KEEP for their co-sponsorship as well as Bob’s for
donating the bait. I’m sure everyone will have a great time,” said
the Commissioner.
