Assailant One Year Ago
Reward
for Information Remains at $12,000
DEP Commissioner Christopher O. Ward asked agency employees and others
who knew or worked with Eugene McMahon to reflect on his untimely death
from a gunshot wound just one year ago.
Commissioner Ward said, “There are no words to describe the loss
to Mr. McMahon’s family - his wife and three children. We, his co-workers,
want them to know that Eugene is not forgotten, and we all look forward
to finding the person who committed this crime."
Mr. McMahon was the victim of an unknown assailant while on the job in
Queens on the night of August 9, 2002. The 114th Detective Squad has been
actively investigating this crime as a robbery/homicide and the DEP has
also assigned a Detective to the investigation.
A $12,000 reward is still in effect for information leading to the identification
and arrest of the person responsible for this crime. Anyone with information
