Community Engagement

TRIE Neighborhood Initiative

The TRIE Neighborhood Initiative (TNI) has launched in partnership with the Taskforce on Racial Inclusion & Equity (TRIE), the Young Men's Initiative (YMI) and the Civic Engagement Commission (CEC). TNI is an important initiative that creates collaborative, community-based coalitions across all (33) priority TRIE neighborhoods! TNI will also work to connect residents to resources, information and provide:

  • Real-time feedback loops to the City;
  • Support ongoing COVID-19 recovery;
  • Increase the local civic infrastructure;
  • And, conduct a community needs assessment.

Each TNI coalition will authentically reflect a diverse, multi-sector pool of stakeholders and provide a localized approach. These coalitions will also bring together nonprofit organizations, businesses, houses of worship, community boards, educational institutions, mutual aid networks, and civic bodies.

Additionally, with partnering guidance and management from both YMI and CEC, our TNI coalitions are positioned for success! As we look toward a brighter future, TNI will serve as a critical tool for building community cohesion and helping ensure a unified recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. With TNI, TRIE is moving beyond individual programs to help strengthen communities!
