Request for a Vision

New York City has 520 miles of waterfront—that’s longer than Miami, Boston, Los Angeles, and San Francisco combined. Every 10 years, the Department of City Planning leads the update of the Comprehensive Waterfront Plan, which aims to make NYC’s waterfront more accessible, active, and resilient.

The Department of City Planning is seeking advice from the world’s leading experts on the City’s waterfront: you! Tell us your creative and inspiring ideas for the future of NYC’s waterfront; one that is resilient, promotes equitable access and supports healthy ecosystems and economies.

This Request for Visions intends to spark conversations, tackle tough challenges and inspire all of us to create the waterfront we envision, so please share it with your friends, family and neighbors!
