Jana Pohorelsky

Jana Pohorelsky was appointed Chief of Staff to the Chief Operating Officer in February 2025. Before joining NYCHA, Jana was Vice President of Government and Community Relations at the NYC Economic Development Corporation, where she worked on community development, affordable housing, and job growth within industries such as the green economy, technology, and life sciences. She began her career in homeless services and policy at NYC-based nonprofits, including Project Renewal and Community Solutions.   

Jana holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in anthropology from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and a Master in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. She was born and raised in Brooklyn.
