Cassiah Ward

Cassie is a regulatory attorney with nearly 20 years of experience focusing on grant management, legal analysis, and process enhancements. She began her legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in New York County. After spending time in the private sector, including at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom, Cassie returned to government service when she joined the New York State Governor's Office of Storm Recovery in 2015. While there, she oversaw compliance for $4.5 billion in grant funding from HUD and served in various roles, including the Director of Monitoring and Compliance and, most recently, the Managing Director of Legal Operations. As the Managing Director of Legal Operations, Cassie was responsible for oversight of the monitoring, diversity inclusion compliance, wage compliance, environmental compliance, and procurement functions of the office.  She also served as the point of contact on all external audits, determining audit management and response strategies. Cassie first joined NYCHA in May of this year as the Vice President of Internal Audit and Assessment. She is a graduate of Bucknell University and William and Mary Law School.
