Veterans Day Breakfast

November 11, 2017

The Veterans Day Breakfast is an annual celebration hosted by the Mayor to thank New York City Veterans and a kick-off to the annual Veterans Day Parade. The 2017 Veterans Day Breakfast featured keynote speaker General Ellen M. Pawlikowski, who serves as Commander, Air Force Materiel Command, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. The command employs some 80,000 people and manages $60 billion annually, executing the critical mission of warfighter support through leading-edge science and technology, cradle-to-grave life cycle weapon systems management, world-class developmental test and evaluation, and world-class depot maintenance and supply chain management. An invocation was provided by Chaplain, Lieutenant Junior Grade Alexander, who serves at Joint Base McGuire, Dix, Lakehurst Chapel as part of the 87th Air Base Wing. The National Anthem was performed by Sade, or Corporal Sade Thomas, a native of Brooklyn, NY and served as an administrative specialist in the US Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton, CA from 2006-2010.
