About the Design Awards

Since 1983, the NYC Public Design Commission has recognized innovative public projects with its Annual Awards for Excellence in Design. The selected designs represent the wide range of proposals reviewed by the Commission the previous year, such as parks and streetscape reconstructions, artwork installations, infrastructure, prototypical designs, and large mixed-use developments.
