Lead Service Line Replacement Eligibility Check & Signup

Use the following instructions to check your property’s eligibility and sign up online for the lead service line replacement program. Important Note: Only property owners can sign up for lead service line replacement. Tenants may not sign up. If you are a tenant, please let your landlord know about this program.

Step 1: Check Eligibility

Visit LeadCAST. Click “Register Here” in the green box. On the registration page, enter your name, email, phone number, and property address (NYC properties will not have an account number, so property owners can ignore that field). If your property address does not show up in the drop-down box when you start typing it in, the property at that address is not currently eligible for a free lead service line replacement.* You can only sign up properties that are currently eligible for a free replacement. If your property address does show up in the drop-down box, enter a password and click “Submit” to continue the registration process.

Step 2: Email Verification & Login

After submitting your registration, you will receive an email with a link to log in to your LeadCAST account. Click the link and enter your email and the password you created in Step 1.

Step 3: Complete Right of Entry Form

After logging in to LeadCAST, you will see an option to complete a “Right of Entry Form.” The Right of Entry Form (also called a consent form) gives DEP permission to replace your lead service line. Click “Start,” fill in your information, and then click “Submit.” Once this step is completed, you will be signed up for a free lead service replacement at your property.

After you Complete your Right of Entry Form:

  • You will receive a confirmation email from support@trinnex.io with a copy of your signed Right of Entry Form.
  • Our contractor will contact you when they are in your area to schedule an inspection of your service line to confirm it is made of lead and needs to be replaced.
  • If your service line needs to be replaced, the contractor will schedule a replacement date.
  • Our contractor will replace the lead service line with a new, safe copper line. The property owner or a designated representative must be present. Replacement work takes about 1–2 days, and we will try to minimize any water service disruptions while we work. We will provide a lead pitcher filter and cartridges, as well as flushing instructions, after replacement.
  • The final step of the project is restoring streets and sidewalks. You can expect a brief delay between the completion of your service line replacement and restoration activities (typically between 2–4 weeks).
  • Visit Lead Service Line Replacement Program for FAQs and other information.

*If you are contacted by the Department of Design and Construction (DDC), you are also eligible for free lead service line replacement even if your property does not show up in the drop-down box. These are proactive replacements by the City during water and sewer main construction work. We are targeting specific geographic areas and your neighborhood will receive notice of any work being conducted.
