This brochure highlights how the NYC Human Rights Law protects New Yorkers from discriminatory harassment, which includes threats, intimidation, harassment, coercion, or violence that: 1. interferes with a person’s civil or constitutional rights; and 2. is motivated in part by that person’s actual or perceived protected status – for example, race, religion, color, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, or immigration status.
