Herbert Norat's Biography

Herbert Norat is a lifelong CB11 resident. From an early age, he cared about his community and wanted to give back whichever way possible. His drive to contribute led to a life changing experience when he interned at the Office of Council Member James Vacca. There, he led community clean ups, supported constituent services, and represented the CM and staff at community meetings.

After completing his B.A. in political science at the City College of New York, Herbert worked for the New York Public Library, the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library, Partnership with Children and, currently, Montefiore Einstein.

Thus far, Herbert's journey has taken him many places and afforded him numerous opportunities to work with socially conscious collaborators. He is fluent in Spanish and continues to live in Pelham Parkway with his family. He was appointed to the Board in 2025 by Borough President Gibson.
