Housing Services for Youth

Housing Services or Youth

Finding and keeping safe stable housing is one of the most important things you can do to make sure you have a successful future. ACS works with your foster care agency to help you obtain and keep your housing.

The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) Housing Support and Services (HSS) unit provides housing supports to parents/guardians who are the discharge resource persons in foster care reunification services and parents/guardians receiving eligible preventive services through ACS’ contracted providers. Assistance includes identifying housing resources to help families involved with foster care or prevention services with accessing suitable, stable, long-term housing.

Housing Academy Collaborative

The ACS Housing Academy Collaborative (HAC) helps prepare you to get and keep your housing when you leave foster care. If you are between 16 and 24 years old, expecting or parenting, help is available.

HAC Housing Specialists can help you with:

  • Resume and career building
  • Employment and career planning
  • Education goal setting and planning
  • Financial Literacy
  • General Knowledge of property owner and tenant rights
  • Negotiating with creditors
