If the Yankees win, Mayor White owes Mayor Giuliani 10 pounds of Polish sausage, a case of Cleveland Micro-brewed beer, a pair of tickets to the Cleveland Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame and a pair of tickets to the Cleveland Orchestra. Should the Indians repeat last year's victory over the Yankees, Mayor Giuliani will send Mayor White 10 pizza-pies from Goodfellas, assorted Bronx-baked Stella D'oro pastries, a pair of tickets to the world-renowned Metropolitan Opera and a New York Yankee hat.
"Last year the Indians beat us, but after watching the Yankees sweep the Rangers this past week, the Cleveland Indians should be on notice that this time it's personal," said Mayor Giuliani. "The Yankees are on their way to the World Series and I'm looking forward to a sausage dinner when it is over. Last year I had to fish in the East River for Mayor White's reward, but this year the fishing gear is in storage. And as soon as I get my 10-gallon hat from Mayor Odom of Arlington, Texas, I'm looking forward to wearing it and my boots while I watch the Yankees continue on their road to the World Series."
After losing his bet to Cleveland last year, Mayor Giuliani presented Mayor White with 10 pounds of striped bass from New York City's clean and clear East River, a case of Brooklyn Lager Beer, and tickets to the New York Philharmonic and the Bronx Zoo.
