"I am proud of all New York City employees who work hard and give their talents and energies so that the most famous City in the world can be a more open and understanding place," Mayor Giuliani said.
"The Domestic Partnership Bill, introduced on May 11th, is now under consideration by the City Council and is expected to pass by the end of this week," the Mayor continued. "The Bill is a great step forward for the City's Gay and Lesbian community because it focuses on how a person does their job and what kind of a contribution they make to society. It is grounded in the basic principle of fairness."
