"Our opposition to the threat by taxi drivers to shut down the City has resulted in a vastly scaled back demonstration. The original threat of a 500-cab motorcade to disrupt traffic during rush hour and beyond has now been scaled back by the court to a 150-cab motorcade that will only be able to move from 5:30 am to 7:45 am. Although we strongly disagree with certain aspects of the court decision, we are confident that the NYPD will be able to limit the impact that the motorcade will have on the movement of traffic and public safety."
