STATEMENT FROM BRUCE TEITELBAUM, MAYORAL CHIEF OF STAFF, REGARDING DAVID DINKINS' STATEMENT ON THE CROWN HEIGHTS LAWSUIT:
"David Dinkins' statement is baffling and flies in the face of the findings of the Girgenti Crown Heights Report. The former Mayor is trying to run away from the responsibility this report clearly placed on him. The report demonstrated that David Dinkins and former Police Commissioner Lee Brown failed to protect the lives, the safety and the property of the people of Crown Heights. They failed to restore order after three days of rioting and they failed to exercise leadership."
