MAYOR GIULIANI AND BROOKLYN RETAILERS PRESENT HOLIDAY TOYS TO LOCAL CHILDREN

The Mayor, Fulton Street Bid, the Gallery Mall and Toys 'R' Us Team Up For Brooklyn Charities

Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani, today brought holiday cheer to over 150 Brooklyn children, handing out toys purchased from Toys 'R' Us at the Gallery Mall at Metrotech. Today's toy distribution was made possible by a $5,000 donation from the Fulton Street BID, the Galleria Mall and Toys 'R' Us.

"The holiday season is a special time of year when New Yorkers come together and give their time to those who need our assistance," Mayor Giuliani said. "Throughout the City, there are many parents having difficulty making ends meet, who may not be able to provide Christmas or Hanukah presents to their children.

"Thanks to the efforts of the Fulton Street BID, the Gallery Mall and Toys 'R' Us, the holiday season will be a little brighter," the Mayor continued. "Children from various Downtown Brooklyn charities will have new toys this year. At the same time, we all learn that the true spirit of Christmas and Hanukah is a spirit of giving and love.

"On behalf of all New Yorkers, I want to thank the Fulton Street BID, the Gallery Mall and Toys 'R' Us, for their generous donation," the Mayor concluded.
