MAYOR GIULIANI HELPS SANTA CLAUS DELIVER TOYS
AT COMMUNITY MAYORS CHRISTMAS PARTY FOR CHILDREN
Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani joined Santa Claus this afternoon in delivering bundles of gifts and toys to over 4,000 disabled children as part of the Community Mayors annual Operation Santa Claus at Hangar 9 at John F. Kennedy Airport in Queens.
"The holiday season in New York is a time to give and to share with friends, family and those less fortunate," said Mayor Giuliani. "The Community Mayors continue to exemplify the true spirit of the holidays and have delighted thousands of children with gifts, activities and fun for over 40 years."
The Community Mayors Children's Fund is a non-political, not-for-profit organization made up of community and business leaders who provide recreational therapy for disabled and physically challenged children. Each year, the Mayors sponsor a series of events benefiting more than 80,000 children, a great many of whom are wheelchair bound.
