“Today the Court of Appeals has ruled in favor of the people of New York City. Their unanimous decision means the Local Government Assistance Corporation must provide the $2.5 billion promised to New York City. These funds were part of the State Legislature’s aid package that helped lift the City out of the fiscal crisis and we expect that LGAC will move promptly to provide this budget relief now that the State’s highest court has ruled on its constitutionality. Today’s decision allows us to move forward with the bond sale expeditiously.”
