STATEMENT FROM MAYOR MICHAEL R. BLOOMBERG ON COMPTROLLER FILING SNAPPLE LAWSUIT

“It is puzzling that the Comptroller is trying to deprive the City of $126 million in revenue we sorely need during these tough fiscal times.  As I explained to him in my letter ten days ago, the City validly entered into the contract with Snapple and there was nothing improper or illegal in the way it was negotiated.  I trust the courts will cut through this political red tape so New Yorkers can benefit from this innovative partnership. Since matter is now in the courts, any further comment about the case should come from the Corporation Counsel.”
