“In light of recent conflict in Haiti as well as the recommendations from the State Department, specifically the US Embassy in Port-au-Prince, the Mayor has decided to postpone his trip to the country, which had been planned for this Sunday. He still plans to visit the nation during its 200th birthday celebration and will host a reception in honor of the country’s bicentennial at Gracie Mansion next week. The Mayor will travel to Jamaica, as planned, and return to New York City Sunday evening.”
