Celebrating AmeriCorps Week
Each year, AmeriCorps recognizes the service and legacy of its corps members, alumni, and partners during AmeriCorps Week. This year, we celebrate AmeriCorps Week from March 10th to March 18th. The NYC Civic Corps Program, an AmeriCorps program run out of NYC Service, has contributed to the 70,000+ members nationally that serve with local nonprofits, public agencies, schools, and other institutions and entities. To date, AmeriCorps has 775,000 alumni that have served 1 billion hours, mobilized 3.4 million community volunteers, and mentored, tutored, or served 3.5 million disadvantaged youth – all while serving with 15,000 organizations all across the United States. With support from AmeriCorps, the Mayor's Office currently partners with 30 organizations that are leveraging volunteers to impact Capacity Building, Economic Opportunity, Environment Stewardship, Healthy Futures, and Education across the City.

NYC Service thanks all of its NYC Civic Corps alumni and current corps members, present and past host sites, other partnering organizations, and individual champions.
