Pediatric Medicine
The Department of Pediatrics provides primary care, inpatient, and subspecialty services to children, adolescents, and young adults. Services are available at Woodhull Medical Center and community clinics.
From the newborn nursery to our specialized program for teens, Woodhull gives your child the tools for a healthy start in life. Our primary care services ensure that your child's care continues throughout childhood with yearly health maintenance visits and up-to-date immunizations. Special programs target important community health issues, such as asthma, diabetes, and obesity.
Child Life Program
Hospitalization can be a traumatic experience for children. To minimize the stress of illness, hospitalization, and medical treatment, the Child Life Program promotes and enhances the child's developmental, emotional, and spiritual needs. A trained Child Life Specialist/Art Therapist encourages positive coping strategies in children and their families as they encounter the wide range of experiences when ill.
