Queens Cancer Center Of Excellence

Comprehensive service that provides a full complement of diagnostic and treatment services for patients, using state-of-the-art medical equipment. These services begin with cancer prevention and early detection efforts followed by diagnosis, multidisciplinary planning and treatment as well as rehabilitation and support services. The services include: Medical Oncology, Surgical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Gynecological Oncology, and Pain Management. The Center is involved in extensive research in cancer prevention, early detection, new drugs, and new techniques to treat cancer. The Center is also embarking on clinical trials such as, a national breast cancer prevention trial (STAR), testing the effectiveness of Tamoxifen versus Raloxifene in breast cancer prevention. The Cancer Center is a site for the national prostate prevention trial (Select) and the multiple new chemotherapeutic agent trials. The Cancer is committed to unsurpassed cancer care that is delivered with compassion and attention to the dignity of our patients and their loved ones.

Adult Comprehensive Surgical Oncology - Headed by a nationally recognized expert in liver surgery, the Department of Surgery offers advanced surgical techniques for most adult cancers with coordinated follow-up care in the hospital's new Cancer Center of Excellence. In addition, many national treatment research protocols are available to our patients.
