Danielle Zuckerman, Manhattan Borough Commissioner
Danielle Zuckerman was appointed Manhattan Borough Commissioner in 2025 to serve as NYC DOT’s primary liaison to external stakeholders for the agency’s work in the borough. Ms. Zuckerman and her team collaborate with colleagues throughout the agency to develop safety projects, ensure quality service delivery, and communicate about agency priorities and operations. She works closely with elected officials, Community Boards, Business Improvement Districts, various institutions, and members of the public.
Before this role, Ms. Zuckerman served as Senior Director on the agency’s Intergovernmental Affairs team. Partnering with a wide range of stakeholders, she developed outreach strategies, responded to community concerns, and advanced the agency’s projects and legislative priorities. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ms. Zuckerman was deployed to relief initiatives where she supported the delivery of emergency meals and distribution of vaccines to New Yorkers.
Prior to joining NYC DOT in 2019, Ms. Zuckerman worked for the New York State Senate on policy issues and community affairs serving neighborhoods in Lower Manhattan and western Brooklyn.
Ms. Zuckerman holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and a Master of Arts degree in Comparative Literature from New York University.
