Sindhu Bharadwaj, Deputy Chief of Staff

Sindhu Bharadwaj is an urban planner and transportation policy specialist and currently serves as Deputy Chief of Staff at NYC DOT. At NYC DOT, Ms. Bharadwaj supports executive operations and oversees special projects initiated by the Commissioner’s Office.
Prior to joining NYC DOT, Ms. Bharadwaj worked as a Senior Policy Analyst at the NYC Comptroller’s Office. In this role, she advised the Comptroller on infrastructure issues and evaluated the City of New York’s ability to deliver high-quality and cost-effective transportation and sanitation programs. In an earlier role as Policy Program Manager at NACTO, Ms. Bharadwaj worked with city transportation departments across the US and Canada to develop design and policy guidance on topics including mobility data, autonomous vehicle technology, transit performance, and vehicle safety.
Ms. Bharadwaj holds a BA in Politics and Cultural Studies from New York University and an MS in Environmental Policy and Planning from the University of Michigan.
