Annual “Take A Child Fishing Day” At Kensico Reservoir On
September 13
Commissioner Christopher O. Ward of the New York City Department of Environmental
Protection (DEP) announced today that the DEP is joining with the Kensico
Environmental Enhancement Program (KEEP) to sponsor the 2nd annual “Take
a Child Fishing Day” at Louden Cove at the Kensico Reservoir in
Westchester.
The event will take place on September 13 from 10 AM to 1 PM. Bait (generously
donated by Bob’s Sport & Tackle) will be provided, though participants
will have to supply their own rod and reel. Reservations are also required
to be made by September 12. Call DEP at (914) 773-4553 for reservations.
“We hope that ‘Take a Child Fishing Day’ will help
local residents have a great time while they learn more about the Kensico
Reservoir,” said Commissioner Ward. “I want to thank KEEP
for their co-sponsorship as well as Bob’s for donating the bait.
I’m sure everyone will have a great time at this beautiful location.”
