Good evening New Yorkers,
We began our week by remembering the thousands lost during the horrific attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 and the bravery of first responders who kept us safe 22 years ago.
We also sent our kids back to school for their first full week, welcomed trendsetters from near and far for New York Fashion Week, celebrated Janmashtami with our Hindu New Yorkers, cheered on Coco Gauff’s victory at the U.S. Open in Queens, and prepared to wish our Jewish New Yorkers a healthy, happy, and sweet new year to come. Truly, what makes our city special are the people, their resilience, and the diversity of happenings every single day. How New York City is delivering for you: |

“Subway Surfing Kills — Ride Inside, Stay Alive” – Empowering talented NYC public school graduates to take the lead, we launched a multi-platform, multi-agency campaign for youth by youth with one clear message: Subway surfing kills.
-
New on Atlantic Avenue – Coming to Central Brooklyn: 4,000 homes, open spaces, more trees, wider sidewalks, and more along Atlantic. This includes affordable apartments for low-income older adults and people who previously experienced homelessness.
- Getting Sustainability Done – We’re ensuring compliance with Local Law 97, which limits greenhouse gas emissions from large buildings. Our plan includes penalties for exceeding carbon emission maximums and supporting buildings’ transition to more efficient technology.

There's now a New York City intersection named in honor of the Beastie Boys? You can ch-check it out on the corner of Rivington and Ludlow on the Lower East Side, which was featured on their “Paul's Boutique” album cover in 1989. 🎙 💿 🚏 |
