NYC Department of Transportation Updates

Learn about the City’s Open Restaurant Program at nyc.gov/openrestaurants. If you own a business that plans on providing outdoor dining, you must affirm that you have read and understand the State-issued guidelines through the Open Restaurant Program.

These guidelines and requirements may change, so please check the New York Forward site regularly. If you are unclear if your business is allowed to reopen, you can use this tool to check.

NYC Health Department Updates

As per the NYC Health Department, New York City restaurants can open for table service in outdoor seating areas. Before opening, you must:

See the NYC Restaurant Reopening Guide and incorporate these guidelines into your daily operations.
Review the general FAQ. Not all questions will be relevant to restaurants, but this may help you implement new requirements.
Review the guidance on cleaning and disinfecting non-healthcare settings.
Prepare a Reopening Safety Plan using this template and conspicuously post it on site.
