2018 Performance Festival

DYCD participates, in grades K-12, showcased their views on peace through performance (poetry, dance, song, rap, or instrumental music) and used real-life issues such as teen gun violence, bullying, intolerance and inclusion as inspiration. Through the festival, students celebrated both their similarities and differences, all while raising awareness about how to accept, acknowledge and spread peace. Memorial Day Opening Weekend for City Beaches

Fourteen miles of sparkling sand and crashing waves can be found in all five boroughs, which is great news for NYC families. Best of all, New York City’s beaches are just a subway, bus or ferry ride away. From the “Bronx Rivera” to iconic Coney Island and the Rockaways, these urban seasides offer just about everything suburban beaches do (except the out-of-town commute!). Lifeguards are on duty daily (10:00am – 6:00pm) from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.
