ANCHOR RESOURCE:

YPAR(Youth-led Participatory Action Research) An innovative approach to positive youth and community development based in social justice principles in which young people are trained to conduct systemic research to improve their lives, their communities, and the institution intended to serve them.

The Project Plan

The Youth Development Institute has created a project Summer Project plan designed to assist providers in the implementation of a Healing Centered and Wellness campaign that focuses on the discovery of activities that focus on Healing and overall Wellness strategies to identify, grasp and understanding of how Healing and Wellness related activities can be organized and are communicated and the impact they have on the community. This plan uses content from Dr. Shawn Ginwright as he defines Healing Centered Engagement, and the YPAR HUB as it’s key resources.

Dr. Ginwright, who coined the term Healing Centered Engagement (HCE), shares, “Healing Centered Engagement offers an asset driven approach aimed at the holistic restoration of young peoples' well-being.

Exploration Resources

The YPAR hub survey page provides a look at how young people can use surveys as a means of collecting information from people within the community. Lessons are provided that will assist in the creation of surveys, how to test them, and administer them.
