September: The Month Ahead

The People's Money

This month, the CEC will be launching "The People’s Money," NYC’s first-ever expense-based, citywide participatory budgeting (PB) process! All New Yorkers age 11 and up, regardless of citizenship or incarceration status, will be invited to directly decide how $5M of mayoral expense funding is spent. We are excited to announce that we will be partnering with over 80 organizations, groups, and institutions during the first phase of citywide PB, also known as Idea Generation. Residents will get together to have conversations about needs, priorities, and problems in their neighborhood and collectively brainstorm solutions. Help us kick-off the first phase of The People’s Money in the Bronx next week!
