Dear Fellow New Yorker, We hope you had a joyous Easter and Passover holiday.
We mourn with billions around the world the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis this morning. His decades of spreading peace and love will forever be remembered. All flags on city buildings will be lowered to half-staff in honor of the Pope.
This past week, Mayor Adams signed legislation to "Get Sheds Down." This historic legislation, which aims to remove unsightly scaffolding across the five boroughs, gives the Department of Buildings new tools to remove unnecessary scaffolding, create more appealing designs for sheds that are still needed, and make our sidewalks prettier and safer.
NYC's Immigrant Heritage Week 2025 was launched last week, and kicks off the Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs' three-month celebration of immigrant heritage 2025. This year's theme celebrates "NYC: Built by Generations of Immigrants." For more information visit here.
