Dear Fellow New Yorker,

This morning, Gracie Mansion was a sea of green as Mayor Adams hosted and kicked off St. Patrick's Day celebrations. The mayor then marched in the St. Patrick's Day Parade and attended the Cardinal's luncheon. He also led a flag-raising ceremony at Bowling Green for Ireland this past weekend. New York City is proud to be home of one of the largest Irish American populations in the country. We wish the Irish community a Happy St. Patrick's Day! 

Today, Mayor Adams kicked off "Mental Health Week", as we focus on the programs and initiatives that help us address the mental health issues in our city. Stay tuned this week to hear more about our work to keep New York City healthy. 

This past week, Mayor Adams hosted his Iftar celebration and added the first women's Iftar event at Gracie Mansion. We wish all Muslim New Yorkers a happy and prosperous Ramadan. Ramadan Mubarak! 

We wish all Hindu New Yorkers a Happy Holi!

Finally, to our Jewish New Yorkers, we hope you had a happy Purim!

Highlights From the City Hall Press Office:

Mayor Adams Celebrates new All-Time High Total Jobs Record, for Tenth Time Under his Administration

Mayor Eric Adams celebrated that New York City has, once again, set another record for an all-time high total number of jobs in the city's history, with 4,861,813 total jobs, according to new data released by the New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL). Thanks to newly revised data from the NYSDOL, the city broke the record again in January 2025, the 10th time the Adams administration has broken the all-time high jobs record since Mayor Adams entered office. Included in the all-time high jobs number is an all-time high private-sector job record as well, with 4,258,376 jobs. Finally, unemployment remains down across all demographics.  

Mayor Adams, City Leaders Honor Lives Lost to Covid-19; Reflect on New York City’s Efforts to Treat, Test, Vaccinate, and Heal New Yorkers During the Pandemic

Mayor Eric Adams honored city health care workers, first responders, essential workers, and those who lost their lives to COVID-19 on the fifth anniversary of the first confirmed death in the five boroughs from the global pandemic that saw New York City as its epicenter. Mayor Adams also announced that City Hall and several other municipal buildings will be lit in amber tonight in honor of those who lost their lives and the first responders and essential workers who worked tirelessly to serve their fellow New Yorkers during the pandemic.

Mayor Adams Announces new Appointments to Rent Guidelines Board

Mayor Eric Adams appointed Doug Apple as the new chair of the Rent Guidelines Board, along with Reed Jordan and Alex Armlovich as new members to the board. Together, the new appointees bring decades of experience across government, nonprofit, and private sectors. The new appointees reflect the Adams administration’s commitment to making New York City the best place to raise a family by protecting affordable housing and making it more accessible for working-class New Yorkers.
