Dear Fellow New Yorker, We hope you had a Happy Presidents Day!
We continue to work to make this city the best place to raise a family. This past week, Mayor Adams announced back-to-back record-breaking calendar years producing housing for some of our most vulnerable New Yorkers. That's thousands of homes for the formerly homeless to find stability, for our seniors to live out their Golden Years in peace, and supportive housing to keep families out of shelters.
As a reminder, with the cold weather here, be careful when using a space heater! Keep space heaters 3 feet away from bedding and curtains, and never plug them into extension cords. For more safety tips, visit fdnysmart.org. Additionally, Code Blue procedures are in effect. If you see a homeless person outside in these frigid temperatures, please call 311 to request assistance.
For the latest updates, please follow CAU on Twitter and Facebook, and be sure to check out the Mayor's "Week In Review" video below.
All the best, Fred Kreizman Commissioner, Community Affairs Unit Office of the Mayor |
