Dear Fellow New Yorker, As autumn unfolds, we are reminded of the traditions, celebrations, and shared values that unite us as New Yorkers. Each week brings opportunities to honor the cultures and communities that make our city extraordinary.
Last week, we celebrated Polish Heritage at Gracie Mansion, honoring the rich history, culture, and contributions of the Polish community. From vibrant folk traditions to generations of civic leadership, Polish New Yorkers continue to exemplify the strength and spirit that make our city shine.
We also had the pleasure of raising the flags of Kazakhstan and Nepal at Bowling Green, celebrating the bonds and pride we share with our global communities. These moments highlight how our city’s greatness comes from its diversity and connections across cultures.
As we strengthen connections across our city’s diverse communities, we hosted a Georgian roundtable this past week with the Mayor, bringing together community leaders to discuss shared priorities and deepen partnerships between City Hall and New York’s vibrant Georgian community. Conversations like these ensure that every voice contributes to shaping the future of our great city.
October is also National Bullying Prevention Month, a time to promote kindness, inclusion, and respect. When we stand united, we send a clear message that every child deserves to feel safe and supported. To learn more and choose kindness over bullying, click here.

All the best, Fred Kreizman Commissioner, Community Affairs Unit Office of the Mayor
