STATEMENT BY MAYOR BLOOMBERG ON $75 MILLION IN FEDERAL 9/11 HEALTH ASSISTANCE

“I am proud of New York’s Congressional Delegation and the City’s long and successful campaign for this funding.  This bi-partisan coalition fought for $75 million to help first responders who aided in the rescue, recovery and clean-up of the World Trade Center Site.  New York will use this money for monitoring and treatment of uniformed and non-uniformed first responders, mental health programs and the World Trade Center Health Registry. I particularly want to thank Senators Clinton and Schumer and Representatives Fossella and Maloney for their commitment to provide the needed funds to New York to recover and rebuild after September 11th.”
