“I would like to commend the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Treasury, Housing and Urban Affairs for instructing the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to restore $120 million in Federal funds.  This money is vital for the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) to continue to provide necessary services for public housing residents.  NYCHA must have predictable and adequate federal funding in order to plan and sustain one of the largest public housing authorities in the country. I would particularly like to commend Subcommittee Chairman Knollenberg and the Subcommittee Vice Chair Sweeney for their work on behalf of New York City.  We encourage the full Appropriations Committee to support the Subcommittee's actions and protect this important funding.”
