STATEMENT BY MAYOR MICHAEL R. BLOOMBERG ON DEADLY FLOODS IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC AND HAITI

“Tomorrow morning a team of Disaster Management Specialists from the New York City Office of Emergency Management will travel to the Dominican Republic to conduct an assessment of what is needed in the aftermath of the deadly floods. The team of three will look at areas of health and human services, infrastructure, sanitation, and mass casualty care and make a recommendation to Commissioner Bruno and myself as to what we can do to help the people of the Dominican Republic and Haiti.  Our thoughts and prayers continue to go to all who have suffered from this catastrophe.”
