NYC TV Launches Five New Original Programs and New Seasons of “City Classics,” “$9.99” and Extends City Drive Live to Weekends.

Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications (DoITT) Commissioner Gino Menchini today announced the fall season programming line-up for NYC TV - the official television network of the City of New York.  NYC TV, which replaced the City’s Crosswalks Channels this past June, is debuting five new original programs in its fall season.  In addition, NYC TV is airing new seasons of its signature programs “$9.99,” and “City Classics” and will extend its popular morning traffic program – City Drive Live – to include weekends.  NYC TV is a division of DoITT and is headed by General Manager Arick Wierson and Creative Director Seth Unger.

“The launch of NYC TV’s fall season line-up is a continuation of my commitment to using NYC TV as an innovative window into City government, and giving New Yorkers information they can really use,” said Mayor Bloomberg.

“NYC TV is a case-study in doing more with less,” said Gino P. Menchini, Commissioner of  DoITT.  “Despite reducing their expenses, NYC TV still provides invaluable access to City government, and with their great new shows for the fall season, NYC TV continues to provide excellent TV programming that all New Yorkers can enjoy.”
