Birth certificates from 1910 to the present are available through the Department of Health & Mental Hygiene (DOHMH). The Department of Records issues birth certificate records prior to 1910.

How can I obtain a death certificate?
If you want to request a death certificate from anytime after 1949, the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene handles the request. If the death took place prior to 1949, contact the Department of Records.

How do I obtain a marriage license or copy of a marriage record?
You can obtain a Marriage Record from the Office of the City Clerk in person or by mail. The Clerk has records relating to all marriage licenses issued by the Office from 1930 to the present. Records from before 1930 are available from the Department of Records. If you obtained your marriage license from a town or city clerk outside of the five boroughs of New York City, please contact the New York State Department of Health in Albany.
